ASIAN CONSULS GENERAL CLUB (ACGC) HOLDS 4th FILM FESTIVAL IN FEBRUARY

 

The Philippine Consul General, the new coordinator of the Asian Consuls General Club (ACGC) in Jeddah, recently announced that the 4th ACGC Asian Film Festival will be held from 16 to 28 of this month of February. The film festival will be held in two (2) venues – the Consulate General of Brunei Darussalam on 16 & 17 February and 24 to 28 February, and the Consulate General of Sri Lanka on 18 to 23 February.

 

The Inaugural/Opening Night of the Filmfest will be held at the Quadrangle of the Brunei Darussalam Consulate General in Jeddah on Wednesday, 16 February 2011 (corresponding to 13 Rabi’l 1431H) from 7:00 to 11:00 in the evening. Saudi government officials, as well as members of the diplomatic and business community in Jeddah had been invited to the occasion.

 

This is already the fourth consecutive year of the Filmfest, which aims to promote Asian culture and traditions and enhance friendly and cordial relations, not only among Asian Consulates General and their respective communities, but also with the host government thru the art of film making.

 

Again participating in the Filmfest are the Consulates General of Bangladesh, Brunei Darussalam, China, India, Indonesia, Japan, Malaysia, Pakistan, Philippines, South Korea, Singapore, Sri Lanka, Thailand, and Saudi Arabia.

To underline Asian unity in diversity, a food festival of culinary delights from each participating country shall be fittingly held on the last day of the Filmfest.
